16027 Winston

Adopted Medium House trainedKnows Basic Commands

APPEARANCE:  Winston is a Golden mix.  He has a lighter than usual Golden Retriever coat and color.  He is approximately 3 years old, weighs 65 pounds and is taller than an average golden retriever.

HEALTH:  Bruce is up to date on vaccines, neutered, micro-chipped and heart worm negative.

HABITS & TRAINING:  Winston loves to run.  He socialized immediately with the last foster family’s dog, a slightly smaller but heavier three year old Black mouth cur.  He barks loudly when people come to or through the door into the house – no one will sneak up on you!  Once a person is in the house he loves to meet them and warms up easily.   He plays very well with the foster family’s dog.  They often take turns chasing each other around a two acre area.  He is house trained, knows how to sit, runs for the door when you say “Outside”, rides well in the car for short distances (we have not taken him on a long car ride)  and has learned to love being petted.  He does not have a mean bone in his whole body, but his bark is very loud and occasionally starts for no particular known reason.

OVERALL:  Winston is an active dog but seems fairly easy to train.  He chases cows and horses but only because the other dog taught him to.   He craves attention and often waits outside the last closed door you “disappeared “ through until you come back through.  He understands “baby gates” and even though he could easily jump over or knock them down, he hasn’t. He is on a “grain free” diet.  He is a good dog and could be a great dog with the right family (needs a place to run)!
